LoomisBurton Collaborates with the Rivard Report

Yesterday the The Rivard Report featured an expanded version of my SA2020 Accelerator Plan, an idea I introduced here last month. Included in the Rivard Report version were two of my photographs and a link to a Flickr slide show of my work. It was a pleasure working with Bob and Monika on what I hope is the first of many such collaborations. I strongly encourage you to visit the Rivard Report to read Bob’s coverage of issues and opportunities that are transforming San Antonio. Recent stories include last week’s inaugural TechStars Cloud Demo day, the downtown strategic framework plan, city branding, and collaborations with local bloggers and San Antonio denizens about life, entrepreneurship, food, and culture.

As Bob describes it, “The Rivard Report is all about urban renaissance, the movement to build a better San Antonio…a catalyst for urban transformation and economic and cultural development.” There is a great deal happening right now which is intended to propel San Antonio forward towards a brighter more creative tomorrow. Many of these initiatives are small and under the radar; fledgling groups and Change Agents highlighting and tackling persistent problems by blending local expertise with borrowed solutions. The results are bright spots, new models to be celebrated and replicated here and abroad. The Rivard Report has taken on the task of aggregating and promoting these stories and they’d like your help.

  1. Peter, Great stuff. If all us who are engaged in city transformation, place making, and improved education for all can better connect we will accelerate our individual and shared success. Hope to see you back on The Rivard Report soon. And hope your network of people will tune in to KLRN to view “RIVARD,” coming soon, a weekly program we will be testing that will highlight some of the city’s most interesting people and projects.
